Cigna is disrupting healthcare in Virginia.

Cigna is reducing its provider network by abruptly terminating agreements with leading healthcare specialists in Virginia.

Patients may soon find it more difficult to get the medical care they need.

The latest example: Cigna has terminated its contract with American Anesthesiology of Virginia — the exclusive anesthesia provider for more than 50 hospitals, surgery centers, and other healthcare facilities across Virginia. The termination took effect in January 2023.

For an insurance company earned more than $2.7 billion in profits during the first half of 2023, the relentless drive to increase profits at the expense of patient care is unacceptable.
